在以避暑胜地而负有盛名的贾巴沃克岛上，原本打算享受修学旅行的16名高中生由于校长黑白熊的阴谋而被隔离在这座岛上。从岛上离开的条件是学生们彼此进行自相残杀，然后再强制执行学级裁判，在讨论后找出凶手。若没能正确找出，则除了凶手以外全员处刑。若成功找出凶手，则将凶手处刑，剩余的人继续在岛上生活。然而，不断的调查之后，一开始的谜团非但没有解开，更多的谜团却一个接一个的涌现出来。
